AI and corporate PowerPoint templates: the 2026 comparison.
This page compares ten AI presentation tools on twelve verifiable criteria: template ingestion, output format, hosting, training, certifications and pricing. It settles a question product pages often leave open: which tool actually reads your .pptx file, masters and layouts included, rather than a brand kit you re-enter?
How this comparison is built
- Public sources only.Every cell in the table points to an official vendor page: product page, pricing page, help centre, security page or data processing agreement. No internal test, no user review and no third-party article is used as evidence.
- Dated facts, recorded on 22 September 2026.Every source carries its date of access, and the table carries its own. At each new check, the amended cells and the recording date change together.
- What this comparison does not judge.Visual quality, negotiated prices, support responsiveness and team satisfaction are not here: those criteria are measured at your organisation, not on a vendor page. The table sticks to what is published and verifiable.
- “Not published” is not “no”.When a vendor does not publish the information — hosting region, training on your content, price —, the cell reads “not published” rather than passing judgment. A missing feature and a missing statement are two different things.
Does a cell look wrong or out of date? Write to us from the contact page with the link to the source: justified corrections are applied within a few days, and the recording date is updated with them.
Ten tools, twelve criteria
The tools are ordered by positioning: first those that work inside PowerPoint and its templates, then those that create in their own format, with Paul last. Every cell links to its source, numbered below the table.

One portrait per tool
Two sentences per tool: who publishes it, from which country, in what form, and the fact that sets it apart in this comparison. The details and their sources are in the table above.
- 01TemplafyA Danish vendor, available both as a “Templafy Agent” add-in inside PowerPoint and as a web agent. Its Team and Enterprise plans centrally manage brand templates and assets; the public pages consulted do not describe how the .pptx file is ingested, and the free plan relies on predefined themes.
- 02UpSlideA French vendor, a Microsoft 365 add-in for Windows (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Power BI, Outlook) aimed at finance professionals. The firm’s PowerPoint templates are deployed and configured by UpSlide at rollout, with fonts, colours and sensitive slides locked; processing runs on Azure in the West Europe and France Central regions, with documents never stored.
- 03Microsoft 365 Copilot (Brand Kit)A feature of the Microsoft 365 suite, sold as an add-on to an eligible licence and usable from the Copilot pane in PowerPoint as well as from the Copilot app. Its Brand Kit accepts a .pptx or .potx file uploaded to the Copilot app, or organisation templates through a SharePoint library (Microsoft 365 E3/E5); Copilot selects layouts among the sample slides and changes neither font sizes nor placeholder sizes.
- 04Plus AIA US vendor, an add-in for PowerPoint and Google Slides that generates a deck from a prompt or a file. Custom template import is in beta and limited to Google Slides on the Team plan (25 slides per template, 5 templates per team), with the PowerPoint version announced as “coming soon”; the brand kit applies to the Plus base template and remains incompatible with imported templates.
- 05GammaA US vendor, a web application that produces presentations, documents, sites and posts in its own format. A .pptx file can be imported as content and an “Import Theme” extracts its colours, fonts and logos; PowerPoint masters and layouts are not mentioned, and the vendor documents differences between its web rendering and the PPTX export.
- 06Beautiful.aiA US vendor, a web application paired with an add-in that inserts “Smart Slides” into PowerPoint. Importing PowerPoint slides into a Beautiful.ai theme is available from the Pro plan, with nothing published on masters and layouts or on ingesting a .potx file; editable PowerPoint export is reserved for the Pro, Team and Enterprise plans.
- 07Presenti AIPublished by Shenzhen Pixso Technology, with addresses published in Shenzhen and Hong Kong; a web editor, with no PowerPoint add-in. Generation starts from a prompt, files, a URL or audio, and the brand is entered in a Brand Kit; ingesting the masters and layouts of a .pptx file as a template is not documented, and neither is the hosting region.
- 08CanvaAn Australian vendor, an online design suite in which the AI presentation is one tool among many, counted against the monthly AI allowance. PowerPoint import, in beta on desktop browsers, converts the file into a Canva design — charts, SmartArt, 3D and WordArt ignored, fonts approximated — and masters are not carried over as a Brand Template; data residency in the United States or the EU is reserved for the Enterprise, Campus and District plans.
- 09PitchA German vendor, a web and desktop application with a public MCP server and API. Its “Pitch Agent” builds a deck from a prompt and a template, and can generate a brand template from a domain name; .pptx import creates a “slide style” but supports neither headers, footers nor custom fonts, and PPTX export is paid.
- 10PaulPublished by Logitopia SAS in France, a web application with no PowerPoint add-in. The company .pptx file is ingested once — masters, layouts, palette, fonts — and serves every generation, which comes out as a native, editable .pptx; the application, database and storage are hosted in the EU, with language models called at third-party providers under contract.
Which tool for your situation
The twelve criteria do not read the same way depending on what you are looking for. Here are three common situations and the tools from the table that fit them.
- 01
You govern templates inside PowerPoint
UpSlide deploys and configures the firm’s PowerPoint files in a Windows add-in, with fonts, colours and sensitive slides locked, and quotes on request from five licences upwards. Templafy centralises brand templates and assets on its Team and Enterprise plans, with an add-in and a web agent, and publishes SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Microsoft 365 Copilot adds a Brand Kit fed by a .pptx file or a SharePoint library, as an add-on to an eligible Microsoft 365 licence, provided the suite is already in place.
- 02
You create quickly, outside your template
Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Canva, Pitch, Presenti AI and Plus AI start from a prompt and produce in their own format or in an in-house theme, with the brand re-entered as a brand kit. Gamma, Canva, Pitch and Presenti AI offer a permanent free plan, Beautiful.ai and Plus AI a limited trial with a card. Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Canva, Pitch and Presenti AI document differences on PowerPoint export — fonts to install, animations and videos lost, rendering that may differ — and Beautiful.ai, Pitch and Presenti AI reserve that export for paid plans.
- 03
You generate inside the existing template
Paul ingests the company .pptx file once — masters, layouts, palette, fonts — and uses it for every generation, delivered as a native, editable .pptx. Among the tools compared, Paul and UpSlide are the two whose “brand kit to re-enter” cell reads “no”: the brand is not entered alongside the template, Paul reading it from the ingested file and UpSlide working inside the files deployed by its vendor. In return, Paul is a web application rather than a PowerPoint add-in, and publishes no certification to date, where Templafy, UpSlide, Copilot, Plus AI, Gamma, Beautiful.ai and Canva display one.
Questions from teams in evaluation
- Can a tool really read my .pptx file?
- The table separates three mechanisms that product pages often merge. Template ingestion reads the company file — masters, layouts, theme — in order to generate inside it: among the ten tools compared, Paul’s cell is the only one at “yes”, those of Templafy, UpSlide, Copilot, Plus AI, Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Canva and Pitch being at “partial” and Presenti AI’s at “not published”. Import as content, by contrast, converts the .pptx into the tool’s own format: Gamma, Canva and Pitch document what they leave behind along the way (charts, SmartArt, WordArt, headers and footers, custom fonts). A brand kit, finally, is a re-entry of colours, fonts and logos inside the tool, separate from the template: Copilot, Plus AI, Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Presenti AI, Canva and Pitch have one, Templafy is at “partial”, UpSlide and Paul at “no”. Reading the “ingestion of an existing .pptx template” row tool by tool is what keeps the three apart.
- Brand kit and template: what is the difference?
- A template is a PowerPoint file: masters, layouts, a theme and placeholders, built by your brand team and versioned like a document. A brand kit is a setting inside the tool: a palette, one or two fonts, a logo, sometimes chart styles, entered alongside the template. The two can coexist — in Microsoft 365 Copilot, the Brand Kit accepts a .pptx or .potx file and adds logos, palettes, typography, icons and a “brand voice” entered by brand managers. The practical difference is maintenance: a brand kit lives apart from the file and must be kept up to date when the brand changes, whereas an ingested template follows the file. The table keeps the two criteria separate on purpose, so that the distinction stays readable.
- Where does my data go?
- Published regions vary a great deal from one vendor to the next. Templafy announces Azure with a choice of region (Europe, United States, Australia, Canada) and UpSlide Azure in West Europe and France Central, with documents never stored; Pitch hosts on AWS Ireland, with AI sub-processors in the United States. Microsoft 365 Copilot falls under the EU Data Boundary for its EU customers, with model calls routed to the nearest data centres and possible overflow, Anthropic models being excluded from that boundary and disabled by default in the EU. Plus AI, Gamma and Beautiful.ai process data in the United States with no published EU option, Canva reserves the United States or EU choice for the Enterprise, Campus and District plans, and Presenti AI does not publish its region. For Paul, the application, database and storage are hosted in the EU, with language models called at third-party providers under contract; the “training on your content” row reads separately, since it describes a different commitment.
- Do I need a PowerPoint add-in?
- It depends on where your teams work. In this comparison, UpSlide, Templafy, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Plus AI offer an add-in; Beautiful.ai has one that inserts “Smart Slides”, without prompt-based generation inside the add-in being described. Gamma, Presenti AI, Pitch and Paul are web applications, and Canva a web, desktop and mobile editor: the file goes through an export or a download. An add-in implies an installation managed by IT and, for UpSlide, a Windows machine; a web application opens in a browser and hands back a file you then open in PowerPoint. The “works inside PowerPoint” row of the table gives the detail vendor by vendor.
- How is this comparison built and kept up to date?
- Every cell comes from a public vendor page — product page, pricing page, help centre, security page or data processing agreement — whose link and date of access appear below the table. The facts were recorded on 22 September 2026; where an item is not published, the cell reads “not published” instead of “no”. Prices are quoted in the currency and for the period displayed by the vendor, without conversion. Visual quality, negotiated prices and support are not assessed: they depend on your own context. If a cell looks wrong or out of date, report it from the contact page with the link to the source; the correction and the recording date are updated together.
